Whitehead's Trogon

30th June - 2nd July

Spent few days at Mt. Kinabalu with friend from US, Jack Appleton and were treated with excellent view and photo opportunities of the uncommon endemic Whitehead's Trogon. There were 2 females and a male on its usual spot feeding before it flew to another trail at Mount Kinabalu. One of my best images so far considering the distance when I took the photo :D

Digiscoped with Swarovski STX 95 + TLS APO + Nikon V1 at 30x = 2430mm

Happy birding everyone!

What an interesting Trogon! Like all Trogons very colorful. Here in Arizona, we have the Elegant Trogon but after seeing this one, it's up for debate!
