One of the uncommon visitor to Sabah, North Borneo seen recently at Kinarut paddy field about 30 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu city.

It's a colourful and favourite bird here in Hong Kong. A painting of Black-capped Kingfisher was on the cover of "Hong Kong Birds" by Herklots in the 1950s.
